Compass 7x7 Leather Journal | Embossed Square Sketchbook & Diary

The Compass Journal comes out of a workshop in India where our artisan partners have made Soothi journals for over ten years, one cover at a time. The compass is embossed deep into repurposed leather, with its N, S, E, and W standing proud of the surface, and the leather around it takes on scuffs and sun the way a well-used trail map does.

The square 7x7 page doesn't take sides: wide enough for a sketched ridgeline, structured enough for a trail log or a day's notes. Inside are 100 unlined pages of 120 gsm tree-free khadi cotton paper, handmade from cotton waste, stitched permanently into the spine so nothing ever falls out of order.

It closes with a string tie wrap. Use the tie as a bookmark, or do what many owners do and add a charm to it after each trip, so the journal starts keeping score on the outside too.
