The Ink Test

Hey Guys and Gals!

A lot of you have been asking me about the paper quality on the Soothi journals. So, we decided to do a pen test to showcase the quality of the paper in action.

For this test we used the standard 5x7 Soothi journals with unlined handmade cotton paper. This paper is 125gsm in weight.

We used 5 different writing instruments:

  1. Sharpie Fine Point
  2. Sharpie Ultra Fine Point
  3. Maped Graph' Peps Extra Fine Point
  4. Uni-ball Fine Point Pen
  5. Cross Fountain Pen

As you can see from the photos, the extra fine point, uni-ball, and fountain pen did not bleed over all at. In fact you could use the back side of the paper without any issues. The Sharpie ultra fine point was slightly visible, but the regular Sharpie was the most visible. However none of the writing instruments bleed into the next page.

If you are using our journals mostly for writing purposes I would recommend the fountain pen as the best option. The pen glides beautifully over the paper and makes you not want to stop writing.

I personally love the Maped Graph' Peps best because I have them in every color and love to alternate based on my mood.

Hope this information was helpful. Comment below with your thoughts and questions.
